# Staking

### What is staking ?

Staking in **CDEF** is becoming a liquidity provider. Liquidity provider is a user who funds a liquidity pool with crypto assets who owns to facilitate trading on the platform and earn passive income.

Liquidity pools are leveraged by the decentralized exchanges that use automated market maker-based systems to allow trading of illiquid trading pairs with limited slippage.

### Coins and categories

**Low Risk**        : Stable coin (example: USDT, BUSD)

**Medium Risk** : BTC and Altcoins ( example: BNB, ETH, XRP...)

**High Risk**       : Cake, MDX, XVS, BSW\...

### Can I withdraw my staked coins ?

Your coins are still in your possession when you stake them. You are essentially putting them to work, and free to unstake anytime.
